A Caucus of Cacklers . TKG Take Ten
The sooner we get those bloody roosters out of there the better.
The peace will reign again in my chook house when those roosters, who snuck in disguised as chickens, are removed. (This weekend). They do nothing but harass the hens or chase each other around the farm. Each rooster gathers a group of hens of his own and then spends his whole life trying to steal another roosters hens by fighting every other rooster.
This is the hen house in the middle of the day after the doors have been opened. Just to give you an idea of a real hen house sound-track.
Every time a rooster goes near a hen another rooster will run it off. Mercy it is wild in there. But this is the real side of farming. I don’t only show you the peaceful sweet side.
It was way below freezing cold this morning and all the water heaters got a work-out and were successful. So that is one less thing to worry about. Everyone needs water.
We got three boxes of tomatoes from the Food Pantry today - we get veg no-one else wants and so the chooks will be feasting on tomatoes at dinner time.
I am going to experiment today with creating a PayWall - though I would rather call it a garden wall. The Tenners will be getting notes sometimes and these will be behind the Garden Wall. The Tenners are the group of paid subscribers. And we are all very grateful. (sadly the paywall cuts off the comments for all so I will work on that) If you would like to be one of this fun group please upgrade below. It is $5 a month and you will be very welcome.
I hope that everyone can read most of this post. I am living and learning. I prefer to take these things slowly.
And any way you choose to subscribe - you are very welcome.
The chat room is open - we are talking about stock and Thanksgiving leftovers. All welcome.

Remember that you can subscribe and unsubscribe very easily. PLUS: You can give a subscription to a friend as a gift - to begin on a specific day.
My objective with these bi-weekly posts is to give us all a little time out from the hurly burly of every day life. So, when I am not on the farm - I will be sat by the fire reading you our favourite classics.
Thursday the 5th of December is Chapter One of Alice in Wonderland.
