Why does sunset on the beach feel like paradise?
Just relax now. Just for ten minutes. I know that feels like a long time - ten minutes. Our lives are chopped up into smaller and smaller portions of attention with social media and Spotify and Netflix determining how much we can watch or listen to without interruptions. Our attention span being trained into lowest common denominator minutes and seconds. You can tell I don’t pay to subscribe to Netflix or Spotify! I keep my predetermined small subscription dollars for my
- and books. But here at TKG Take Ten you have our permission to take a ten minute grace break.
You are The Tenners.
Giving yourself permission is a thing you know. One of my sons gives himself $150 NZ pocket money a week. To keep his spending on the straight and narrow. And he earns good money. But this budget allows him to save for anything he wants. And think carefully before spending.
Calling it pocket money and giving himself permission to spend it releases him from the guilt of spending that hard earned money on something frivolous like a new Patagonia Jacket.
Invariably choosing wisely where to spend our money is good for our bank balance and our planet. Over consumption is a frightening concept with so many repercussions.
This is what I was thinking about as I watched the sun go down. And eventually I was thinking nothing at all - just basking in the sounds of the sea. On the edge of the landmass.
Have a lovely morning/afternoon/evening.

So special..., the sunset and the sunrise. My mom loved them both and we arose early, where ever I was on the planet when she visited me to watch them, and then we chased the sunsets in the evening. So special! The sun seems to be melting into the ocean there. Did you see colors afterwards? Sometimes clouds are needed for that.
spectacular. absolutely spectacular. amused by the fellow walking backwards. :)
