Close your eyes. Listen.
My objective was to create 10 minute farmy sound bites: a sounstrack that you can relax to. But the animals kept taking over.
And you know what they say - never work with old people or animals. And I work with both all day long!!
So, today I put the camera in an obscure corner of the calves pen - where no-one really goes (this is a corridor) - so you can close your eyes and without missing anything, really sink down deep into the bird song of the barn with the occasional word from FreeBee.
It is so seldom in this wild, wild life we lead, hurling ourselves to and fro, with demands blaring or news blaring or kids blaring (or old people blaring their old people blaring music), that we get to just sit, with eyes closed and listen.
So sit.
I really like today’s Farmy SoundScape.
Do you?
What do you think?
Have a gorgeous evening.

PS Pop over the The Kitchens Garden.com if you would like to see more of this little sustainably managed farm out on the prairies of Illinois.
Your subscription goes towards feeding the rescue animals and supporting me to write about designing my own self sufficient and environmentally sustainable life and living to talk about it. So I encourage you and thank you for Upgrading to Paid. Having said that, I am very frugal too so I totally understand and love you even if you can’t donate. No worries at all. I am just grateful you are here.
Sharing with your network is the next best thing. Thank you for that!!
Wish I could identify the various bird songs. I'm not sure but I think I was hearing the wind too. Plus very gentle grunts from FreeBee.
