Field and calf
The sounds of a your steer munching away on fresh green grass is a delight to any farmer who raises pastured animals in the fields. But the other calf has other ideas! Have a listen.
These two calves are very nosy so I feared for the safety of my camera! Tied to a post!
The Phone (with the video running) is attached to a fence post and soon after I leave the scene, hoping you will listen to bird song while the calves gently graze, the second calf (the black one) is giving the phone a good sniff then bashing the fence that I have attached the camera to - thankfully nothing came loose. He is so naughty. He should be out grazing not bothering my equipment. Then we see him sauntering nonchalantly through the landscape.
Like butter would not melt in his mouth.
There is still plenty of grazing - tomorrow I will lead these two into another field. I don’t herd animals - they all know their call. To bring these two renegades in I call out: BOBBY! And wave my white bucket around.
Can you see the dried grasses running along the top of the screen? That is the bank that runs along the creek that is really a ditch. In the summer we will put the camera up there to see what we can see.
Sadly the camera is catching the wind - now that the calf has moved the screen around - but I still think he is a sweetie.
What do you think?

I heard the sniffing and later the wind but these two both look black to me. I was hoping to see the nostrils doing the sniffing. But I did hear the chewing and pulling of the grasses.
