TKG Take Ten: Free Bee Takes to His Bed
It was windy and snowy outside yesterday so FreeBee, (the mature rescue Hereford Hog) and (because hogs really are that clever); took to his bed early. Deep, deep in the straw.
There was a lot of wind. A lot of cooling air being hauled about making a lot of noise and because Big Jude was in the vicinity (coming in soon) I was guarding my camera phone.
Often pigs make little grunting sounds to themselves - I imagine that they are saying “I am here. I am Here. Do you seem me. You are there. I see you too” Then possibly “I am here. Don’t stand on me you big fat pig.”
Very similar to people who often make a lot of noises, grunts and sighs and exclamations as they go along with their day. Sophia Loren once said, 'I don't make old lady noises. '
FreeBee was right. It did get very cold in the night. Everything froze solid. Lucky for the pigs I shut their big doors after feeding time. They still have their side door open though, so they can get in and out for the toilet.
The holidays are fast approaching! In fact almost here. I will be glad when they are over with. The pressure is just horrible.
But the good news is that out here on the prairies it will be up in the 50’s on the 25th. Or is that the bad news?
Have a lovely day.
Take care. Talk soon.
Cecilia

FreeBee knows a thing or two about relaxing and the chickens parading past did bother him a bit. Jude coming along didn't ruffle his feathers either! I can't get over the cat doesn't bother the chickens. I guess they'd give her/him what for!
