Join me for ten minutes of ambient garden sounds. The New Zealand city garden is a stage for the birds. A perfect spot to recover. We are all in recovery from one thing or another.
And I am recovering! But. As my Dad famously said “Worse things happen at sea.”
And. HONESTLY! I was in covid denial. I had dodged it so often that I thought I was bullet proof.
But no. I am not godlike in any way shape or form. Not bulletproof.
I was ambushed by the bloody bollacksy Covid.
And so I hunkered down and prepared to wait it out. But deeply annoyed at having to wait. I am Not a patient person.
So I have been gardening through this unfortunate period of unwellness. I thought I would write but my mind did not comply.
Gardening wild gardens that are not my own is a very different experience. This one is like a very wide border of flowering weeds. But like they say a weed is just a plant in the wrong place and the reverse is totally true.
A weed in the right place is a plant.
Ever the optimist I am cleaning my isolation hut in the garden today - our video is my view - so I can continue my travels as soon as I am in the clear. I have to fight the impulse to pack my bags and begin to just walk to my godmothers house at the beach. I am already late and she is very old. She also has a sleep out and we can call to each other across her garden. Plus she has Covid too!
But. I have to stay cool. Perform within the guidelines of society. No walking down the highway. Not for 201 miles anyway.
I must work with what I have.
Love Celi
