The Big Pigs . TKG Take Ten
Jude and FreeBee - the two rescue hogs. In their twilight years.
Cold. Overcast. Still. Perfect weather to hang out with the big pigs for a while.
FreeBee the brown Hereford pig does a lot of sitting down as is evidenced by his muddy bum. And Jude the big black hog has a gamey leg. But they are some of the happiest hogs on the property. Both come up to my hip and are over 6 feet long. And are gentle and kind. Because they were raised with gentleness. They probably weigh over 400 pounds (Jude is probably more) and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. Our biggest problem with these two is keeping the weight off them - like people it is easy to put weight on but horrible to lose it again!
Hogs eat a lot of hay too so I throw leaves of leafy alfalfa in for them.
For those of you who have Paid Subscriptions FreeBee and Jude (both rescues) thank you.
It is you who are providing the apples!
I love pigs.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving Day.

I love their grunts. Jude turning over his pan seemed so disconsolate. I hope it's not the gloomy weather. I wonder why are the little sparrows eating--are there tiny insects even in such cold weather still about?
I love pigs too! I currently have them digging my sweet potatoes!
