TKG Take Ten : The herd of diversity : Not kidding
Due to FreeBee (the rescue hog) and his re-construction (without permission) of the barn a new field herd has emerged. Two cows and two hogs. The barn is off limits until the repairs.
And I am away for a while so for two months everyone is going to live together. And much to my delight. They did well. Today the hogs and cows have been out in the field grazing together. It is cold so there has also been a lot of sleeping in sheltered corners. But all in all everyone seems - well - happy.
To feed out I place a slice of hay down as a plate for the pigs. Then on top of the plate their grain is laid out in a line.
The cows are thrilled!! This is new! Now they get to share food with the resuce pigs. Ah well.Needs must and all that. FreeBee (the big red pig) is a bit bossier with the cows than Jude is. Do you think?
The sounds in this TKG Take Ten video are delightful. Little bit of pig. Little bit of cow. Little bit of rooster. Another bit of noisy pig. A little bit of dog walking past. A little bit of Tima way off in the background. My voice, too. That flurry of flying wild birds wings. Then a lot of wind: it is 34F - just above freezing. Cold. And blowing. Big birds. Little tiny wild birds.
Did you see FreeBee follow me so I could feed him around the corner while Jude was not watching? Who is going to do that while I am away. I worry and worry. I must stop worrying.
But Mr Flowers and his tail. Gorgeous. And Quacker eating as fast as he can before the chickens get it. Do you hear the wind in the trees? I love everything here.
Have a gorgeous evening.
