TKG Take Ten: The Tractor Shed
This morning I saw a chicken run out of the tractor shed with a mouse in her beak. AHA I thought - let's watch this space for ten minutes.
Every corner of the farm is interesting as you and I listen or watch. With intent.
That sentence reminds me of my mother saying “Blah Blah Blah … if you would JUST listen to me for once!”
Anyway, this week I am working on crystallising the changes that are coming in the New Year to this SubStack. This Letter from The Kitchen’s Garden Farm. This wonderful thing we are building. First: I am still looking for the perfect title for the 10 mins FarmScape series.
And - as usual YOU are part of this quest. How about:
"Our Daily Farm Ten"
Okay, I know, the name suggests daily, and here's the twist – it's every weekday. PLUS I will continue this series even when I am travelling so it will not always be FARM. Hmm. How about:
“Our Daily Ten” - Not enough info. Hmm
or
“TKG Daily. Take Ten”
or (drumroll!).
“TKG Take Ten”.
Which would you choose? I like TKG Take Ten. Let's try that on, see how it feels, it gives the impression that the TEN is a restful ten mins. A break. I will remind people often that TKG means The Kitchen’s Garden.
Your input and ideas are more than welcome. We have moved past soundscape, farmscape, 10mins, I need something that tells you exactly what you are clicking on when you see this in your inbox. And snappy.
And titles are important.
Now that I have dragged you through my convoluted thought processes, I am going to turn on my TKG Take Ten (that rolled nicely off the tongue) and while it plays I will make my notes for tomorrow. I find this is the perfect amount of time to organise a day every (week) day! Ten minutes.
Take care and Talk soon.

PS How about this for a gift idea for the holidays; Give someone, who might be in need of a little down time on the farm, a gift subscription. The farm is great company. They will receive my Sustainable Sunday Letter PLUS FIVE “TKG Take Ten” a week. A month of farm visits would be a great gift I think. Especially across the madness of the holiday season.
And - of course - anyone can unsubscribe or pause a subscription at any time.
And I would love you to consider upgrading as a holiday gift for the Farm. Plus I need to buy a new tripod after Big Jude took Offence to my last One. Click to watch his shenanigans! Merciful heavens - That Pig!

That was a fun one tonight! Everyone is so busy and then along comes lumbering Tima the Tank caring only about the food she can steal from the chickens. You've provided a haven for the small wild birds with that shed being open. Does it stay open in the winter weather as well?
I saw the cat Lulu? running about but couldn't tell if she had a mouse. I am surprised by how fast the chickens run--and wonder where are they running to when they run to the right of the camera and out of view.
