As a boy I thought the notion of a caucus race hilarious. Even then I saw the satirical point of such. I still use this term - along with "a dudo prize' in my line of work.

I don’t think I ever read the unabridged version of Alice when I was a kid. So things like caucus race and wonderfully new to me!

And I am really enjoying the reading. So this may develop into more than filling the void! I miss the farm too but we have a month away this time! So I try not to think about it.

Cecelia, I am enjoying. your readings! It is a treat to be read to, and I have never actually read or heard this classic, although I know the story---or bits from Disney's early animated movie when all the individual cels were drawn and colored. It is a treat at the end of a day, listening as the sun goes down. 5:00 pm PST.
