Lawn decorations plus they eat piles of insects, pond weed and lay eggs for the pigs. And I barely feed them. All in all I like them. I have chickens too of course but ducks are friendlier.
Oh I love this! For the first time ever, we have no ducklings on our local pond this year. It’s so disappointing because I always love going to see them every day and watching them grow. Thanks for sharing this.
I could not believe it when I randomly popped out to look at the pond and there they were - the rogues. And when they walked out of the shot they promptly wandered off into the corn and Boo and I had to return them to the barn, Boo was very stern.
What do you 'do' with ducks? Do you ever sell them for produce? Or are the left alone to live their lives as sort of lawn decorations?
Why a duck? Why a no chicken?

Any animal or bird in the wild is so much better. Glad you are enjoying these ones!
Happy happy ducklings. But where is Quacker?
Watching from the sidelines as usual.
They relish the water--and dunking their heads and making a big splash. I was wondering how deep the water is.
In the middle it goes down 10 odd feet - both too deep.
Happy ducklings! They’re in their element.
Yes! At last! They are so fun to watch!
