I love this, the story and the analogy to life. After many years of having so much trouble making decisions in case they were the wrong ones, I met a man who said, "You make the decision and then you make it right." It changed my life just like the hole in your bedroom wall changed yours.
That is an excellent saying. I have always had terrible trouble with being too shy to say what i need to say - which is why I am a much better writer than I am a conversationalist. You make the decision and then you make it right. sounds like excellent advice.

It was! And such a small space - there was nothing pretty about it but we spent days out there.

I was afraid to ask for the longest time too. And in the end it was fine. So, I learnt my lesson.
