"I am reminded of how little I know" this is how I feel SO often when I realise all the grand magical things happening around us that we really can't comprehend!

Good morning Heather Anne and yes! There is so much science that feels like magic!

I love that your dad was involved in your education and taught things in a way kids would understand. Like you, I love learning new things. My dad said we should learn one new things a day! Your sunrise video is amazing. We get some great ones here too, usually while i am out walking the dogs at this time of the year. Love it.

This is so special: how first the pond materializes then the fields, then the pale orange of the sky, all along, the faint cries of the roosters growing in power. Quite spectacular.

Even moreso, your father's teaching you about the world. I had none of that. None. Our science books remained shut our entire grammar school days and into high school. You cannot imagine my ignorance: I was perhaps 50 years old before I learned the moon has no light of its own. Sad.

It was probably when you had to let go of that lovely idea. The moon and her light. Why were you unable to study science?

I revel in continual learning especially about the universe.

I can imagine on a farm the night sky is so brilliant, and the seasons so integral, one cannot but wonder about how it all works. Lucky you to have such!

"When I study this stuff (and yes stuff is a scientific term - cue laughter) I am reminded of how little I know. Maybe even how little I am. "

The more we know, the more we know what we don't know. It makes us humble. As Charles Darwin observed: "Ignorance breeds confidence more than knowledge".

Thanks for this lovely meditation on all that Celia! 👏

The "axial tilt dance move" might just become my new favourite mental image—science and rhythm all rolled into one.

You’re absolutely right: no matter how much we understand (or how little) we all get to experience these cosmic marvels every single day. Thank you for sharing this radiant perspective Cecilia......
