From the windowsill above my bed come the howl of the dogs. I did not want to open the door and alarm the coyote pack so I opened the window instead.
This is a very familiar sound. I grew up hearing coyotes in the night. I found it frightening but I was a nervous child and frightened easily.
They do their job of keeping the deer moving in the wild and keeping mice, rabbits, mink, etc down. It is only when people get in their way - get in the way of nature that the problems begin.
