I had intended them to be wandering birds. But we are not living together well! So they will be sold. I am not a fan of turkey though these have been very well fed!
Great story about the counting - I loved watching my father count cattle. He would just count as they came, so sometimes in 2’s but if 3,4 or 5 went passed, he’d count them the way they came. I preferred 2’s or even 3’s weren’t too bad. I’d be lost without my phone but do hate the fact that I’ll pick it up to check the time and then “oh a notification!” 5 minutes later I realise I still don’t know the time!
And yes to the phone thing! I can pick it up to check something - do something else - then put it down with the first thing unchecked! What are we like!?
The turkeys were a bit of an interesting experiment- yes? I admire the practicality and honesty of knowing when to say enough, not everything works. I also admire the way you continue to do what you find to be so important about farming, both for yourself and for others especially as the alone-ness of the undertaking seems to grow. You have a graciousness about yourself C that honestly I do not believe I would have if I stood in your place.
And to the phone conversation- I am not sure why, but I have never embraced my phone as the work horse that so many do. It has only a bare minimum of apps in actual use and since the last update I have noticed that I get regular reminders about stray apps that I rarely or never use- a check up with me of sorts offering to pause or delete the ones that seem to simply take up space. I just returned from Colorado and uninstalled at least 3, maybe for 4 apps that I will not use again until the next time I travel. No need to keep them on the phone I think. Much easier to simply put them back when needed.
The squirrel is camera-sky, I guess. I'm sorry to see the chickens and pigs leaving. It's sad but as you've said, this is a farm not a zoo. Ilvoe seeing Boo and would like to see more of him--and Ton--and missed Quacker. Didn't see him or hear him. Love seeing the ducks--they are all so pretty and charming.
will the obnoxious turkeys be thanksgiving fodder?

Thank you, Celi! And counting sheep does sound pretty interesting. 😁
Right? Who knew.
Who indeed! 🤣
Yet another reason I should have paid attention in math
I hear ya!!

I love that your Dad had cattle too.

My dad was a real Aussie battler! He was a great Cattleman and horseman too. I learnt so much from him.

Yes! Those apps can go back to the library until you check them out again. I cannot bear a middle on the face of my phone!
I have placed the turkeys for sale on my FB page. We will see.

The squirrel was shrieking at a cat. The cat was sat next to me calmly looking up. Too funny!
