Alice. Ch VII. A Mad Tea-Party and Best Wishes for the Day

Alice, in Wonderland, joins the Mad Hatter's tea party, where time stands still, riddles have no answers, and madness feels strangely merry.

It is Christmas day here in the Antipodes. The holidays have officially begun. It is summer. I stripped the beds, washed and hung out the sheets in the sun. And we have had a great long walk looking at other peoples gardens then a bacon and egg brioche for breakfast with orange juice and bubbles.

Personally I enjoy a holiday breakfast much more than a holiday feast.

I am writing on the porch, the bees are buzzing about the lemon flowers, it is quiet with the occasional shriek from neighbourhood kids. Everything is so relaxed. Actually we are so relaxed here we are practically horizontal. We have a steak pie for later and a pavlova with fruit for even later than that!

Here is the pav!

Here is the recipe. It is my Mum’s recipe and even without a decent beater the pavlova came out beautifully. I attribute this to low humidity and an electric oven.

I will be gardening today because I only have two more weeks here before I climb back on board a plane and make my way back to the states for some winter.

If you have just joined, and have not heard the first few chapters of Alice go HERE to play Catch Up!

Below is a picture of the damage after my daughter and I went to the second hand shop then inadvertently stopped at a plant shop. This is the back of the car!

I am so happy to pop in with a chapter of Alice today. It is Christmas Day already here in Australia. So if you celebrate I wish you all a lovely gentle day. And if you don’t I also wish you a lovely gentle day! And a nice sit down with your chapter.
