As usual l can add nothing to what Deb has to say and entirely echo her sentiments. Your blog is by far the most interesting, informative and just plain lovely read of my day. If substack goes the rather small amount of cash we pay for that l would just convert to the farmy instead.

you must do what feels right, and if what you are doing isn't working for you, that is a sign that you may want to change it up in a way that does feel right. like the others, I find you to be a brilliant writer and the world would be a better place with your memoir out there

Writing a memoir would take a lot of time too! 😂/ but I see what you mean about doing what feels right and is easy on top of everything else.

I think a 10 minute video is a large commitment of time for you. I would be happy to watch 2 or 3 minutes. That would reduce the size of your uploads a lot.

I use software called Handbrake to reduce some original videos to smaller size. You might find it useful. I don't know your computer platform, methods, etc. Just a thought to consider. :-)

It is a large commitment- I agree- and one I wanted to try. Now it is time to rethink. Thank you for the link. I do need a better program for reducing the videos - I am losing too much information with this cheap app.

As the blog will continue & is not in danger of disappearing, I will say what I have I have long thought you could/should also do to make some money. Write a book about yourself on The Farmy! You have a wonderful true stories & a memoir in you, I know you do. And I would buy your book. I'll bet I habe nearly a dozen wonderful books about life on farms & rural endeavors. Inspiring, lyric, funny....The seasons, the animals, the characters portrayed (not as discreetly anonymous as yours must be on the internet). I love reading about these things & so many many others do too. You are a marvelous writer, Celi, & I'm confident you would find an audience for such a book, going back to your beginnings in NZ. There now, I've said what I think! And raise the Tenners to $10. I would pay that for them to continue just as they are now. And I'll bet your other faithful followers here would too. Wouldn't that help? And if no publisher stepped right up, which I doubt would be the case, perhaps there could be a pot for help with self publishing, or subscriptions for installments of chapters as Dickens, Thackeray, etc. did.

Some great thoughts here Judith. I do love sharing my life here in the farm - it gives me a different layer to the experience. Makes me more thoughtful.

Always run things past you (my readers!) I respect your judgement!! And - honestly today is a lot less fractured - very relaxing. Well - not exactly relaxing but nicer!
