Keeping this old building standing is about love and warmth and heartbeats. But it is slowly sliding. A building that will decay and return to the earth is a gift.
I guess you're not too worried about the barn. It must have been really well-built to begin with to withstand the terrible wind and ice over the past hundred or more years. Things aren't nearly so well made today (understatement that, and sadly obvious.) I'm reminded of that wonderful scene in Witness when all the Amish come together to raise a barn in a single day. Lovely!
Whenever you write about your barn l can tell just how much you love it. Propping and fixing wherever you can. I’m sure all the animals appreciate the warmth and safety it gives them too.

I can feel your love and affection for the barn, and I know you'll do your best to support it, as long as you and the barn are both able. wonderful
